Shop Director
Michael Maker
Michael started wheelin’ and dealin’ vintage as a youngster, hunting down 50s & 60s rock’n’roll styles. Opening up shop at nineteen, Michael began to refine his focus and store concept. Later fronting a garage band known as The Makers, Michael toured worldwide throughout the 90s and signing to record labels Kill Rock Stars and Sub Pop Records.
In the mid aughts Michael re-entered the vintage world, opening The Pop-Up Shoppe in Portland, OR. Quickly connecting with prominent buyers, Michael was invited to exhibit at the most exclusive trade shows in the industry, alongside his business partner Ross, of Daylight Vintage.
After moving up to Washington to raise his son, Savoy Special Vintage officially opened in 2018. Since, Michael has meticulously merchandised over 2,000 square feet at his 740 Broadway location, specifically to his version of vintage clothing.
